	We believe that good design stems from collaborative relationships with clients, an understanding of the intrinsic spirit of an individual site, and a fundamental respect for the environment. Our goals are to create beautiful, functional landscapes that meet our clients' lifestyle needs and to provide clients with the knowledge and skills to care for their new gardens.

	Because we know that no two landscapes are the same, we customize our approach based on the individual needs of each client. This means we won't force you to buy more services than you really need to meet a minimum job cost. If you hire us to develop a comprehensive plan, you can expect the process to follow a predictable path: Initial Consultation - Most design work begins with a design consultation at your home. We will discuss your needs and preferences, walk the site, inventory the existing plants and layout, and explore the best approach for your situation. Preliminary Landscape Plan - Based on the initial consultation, we develop one or two options for your site to show the overall concept and form of a design. The preliminary plan is often fully rendered to better illustrate how spaces are defined and how transitions are made from one outdoor "room" to the next. We also share images to give a sense of what we envision for your site. Photos might depict paving materials, gates, fences, play equipment, or plants. Master Plan - The final plan includes a black and white drawing of the site, showing plant placement, plus a plant list and detailed information about each new plant recommended for your site. We also provide specifications for construction materials, furnishings, lighting, and other key elements of the plan.
